PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an image of the backward of a vehicle in consistence with an intentional movement of a driver.SOLUTION: A back confirmation apparatus performs: displaying, on a display device in a cabin, an image of a backward of a vehicle imaged with an imaging device, where two zones are set, i.e., a normal display zone, of an imaging area of the imaging device, for displaying the image on the display device in a given aspect ratio, and a reduction display zone that is adjacent to at least one of left and right sides of the normal display zone and displays an image in a different aspect ratio that is different from the given aspect ratio so that the image is displayed on the display device in compression in a left-right direction; controlling the display of the image of the backward of the vehicle on the display device on the basis of the set normal display zone and reduction display zone; detecting a position of a line of sight of the driver relative to the display device; and changing a display ratio of the normal display zone and reduction display zone so as to widen a reduction display zone on a peripheral side where the position of the line of sight exists, in a case where the detected line of sight exists at a position toward a peripheral side of the display device in the left-right direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
