PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a platform sensing method and apparatus of high reliability which undergo no influence of snowfall with only equipment mounted on board instead of installation of sensors on ground, and to provide a door opening support device which enables a crew to use sensing results of the platform sensing apparatus to effectively prevent the erroneous operation of opening a door on a platform-free side.SOLUTION: A platform sensing method enables a predetermined range ahead of a train in an advancement direction to be photographed by a camera fixed inside the foremost window when the train speed falls, and a platform to be judged to be present within the predetermined range when an image representing platform features is extracted in a predetermined region from image processing. A door opening support device includes a display which displays that the opening operation of a door opposite a side judged to have a train platform is prohibited in the case where the platform sensing apparatus judges that a train platform is present on the left side or the right side of a train when the train speed falls, or a display which displays that the opening operation of a door on a side with a train platform is permitted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
