PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable reducing the number of components, and to enable performing economical and efficient water electrolysis treatment.SOLUTION: A differential pressure type water electrolysis system 10 comprises a water electrolysis device 12, hydrogen lead-out piping 28, first to third storage tanks 50a-50c, and first to third tank piping 48a-48c. The first tank piping 48a is arranged with a first valve mechanism 54a having only a single first on-off valve 52a. The second tank piping 48b is arranged with a second valve mechanism 54b having only a single second on-off valve 52b.
