PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel deep ultraviolet emission material.SOLUTION: A deep ultraviolet emission material comprises oxides of lanthanum and gallium represented by chemical formula (LaR) GaO, where R is a rare earth element such as yttria, neodymium, praseodymium, x is a content of the rare earth element, satisfying the relationship 0≤x≤1.
