PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply circuit and a control method for the power supply circuit with which it is possible to suppress power consumption and shorten a rise time.SOLUTION: A power supply circuit 1 is configured from: a power supply terminal 20 to which a power supply voltage is input; a switching regulator 60 provided with a switch circuit 40 and a smoothing circuit 50 provided with a capacitor and an inductor and connected to the switch circuit 40, and smoothing the output from the switch circuit 40 and outputting a first voltage; a switchover circuit 80 having the switch circuit 40, the smoothing circuit 50, and a series regulator 70 connected in series in that order, and supplying a power supply voltage to the series regulator 70; and a control unit 90 for controlling an active state in which a second voltage is outputted from the series regulator 70 and an inactive state in which the switching regulator 60 and the series regulator 70 are halted, the control unit 90 controlling the on/off of the switchover circuit 80 in the inactive state on the basis of the result of the power supply voltage measured during the active state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
