PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveyance device and an image forming apparatus that appropriately perform conveyance operation of a sheet member using a registration roller, when the registration roller is feedback controlled by a servomotor, while preventing increases in device size and costs.SOLUTION: A paper sheet conveyance mechanism 11 comprises: a registration roller 46; a registration motor 57; an encoder 59; a registration sensor 61; and a control unit 90. The control unit 90 comprises: a first drive controller 91 which, when a tip of a sheet is detected by the registration sensor 61, sets drive of the registration motor 57 in an idle state before the sheet abuts on the registration roller 46; a rotation amount calculator 92 which calculates a rotation amount of the registration roller 46 after the sheet has abutted on the registration roller 46, on the basis of a detection signal of the encoder 59; and a second drive controller 93 which starts the drive of the registration motor 57 at a timing in accordance with the calculated rotation amount.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
