PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for reducing the amount of shifting in position of an image caused by a response delay after correction while suppressing the increase of a device size in an image recording device and an image recording method for recording an image while correcting the position of a recorded medium in a width direction.SOLUTION: The image recording device 1 has a first correction mechanism 30 for correcting the position of a recorded medium in a width direction on the upstream side of a plurality of heads 21 to 24 in a carrying direction, and a second correction mechanism 40 for correcting the position of the recorded medium in the width direction on the downstream side of the plurality of heads in the carrying direction. Response delay data indicating the delay of a response to the correction of the first correction mechanism at each recording position is stored in a predetermined recording medium. The image recording device executes correction by the second correction mechanism on the downstream side based on the correction amount of the first correction mechanism and the response delay data when correction by the first correction mechanism on the upstream side is executed. Thus, the amount of shifting in position of an image caused by a response delay can be reduced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
