PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the risk of unauthorized use of a control program.SOLUTION: In a control program distribution system 1, an outdoor unit 10 transmits a first authentication key written on a non-rewritable first storage device to a repeater 3. The repeater 3 holds a second authentication key, and transmits the first authentication key and the second authentication key to a server 5. The server 5 authenticates the first authentication key and the second authentication key, and transmits a control program to the repeater 3 when a legitimate right is confirmed. The repeater 3 transmits the control program to the outdoor unit 10. The outdoor unit 10 writes the received control program to a rewritable second storage device, to enable execution of the program. The control program distributed from the server 5 includes the steps of: authenticating the first authentication key when the program is executed; and permitting execution of the program only when the first authentication key is authenticated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
