PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet ray transmission window material having a photocatalytic function, which material is used suitably as the window material of an ultraviolet ray irradiation device or the like when breeding water for aquatic organisms such as cultured fishes and ornamental fishes is sterilized by ultraviolet light and which material shows self-cleaning properties.SOLUTION: The ultraviolet ray transmission window material 1 is obtained by overlaying the outside surface of a window material main body 2, which comprises a substance such as sapphire for transmitting ultraviolet light having 200-400 nm wavelength and excited light of a photocatalytic substance, with a plurality of photocatalyst coating layers 3 so that a coating rate, which is defined as a ratio (%) of the total area of parts to be coated with the plurality of photocatalyst coating layers 3 to the entire area of the ultraviolet light-transmittable part of the window material main body 2 is 2-95%, and the photocatalyst coating layers are dispersed substantially uniformly.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
