[Also in Group XXV] In a vehicle door operating system operated under the joint action of a vehicle operator and a passenger the brakes of the vehicle are applied automatically when the operator releases latching means locking the door closed. The operator releases latching means L by de-energizing a solenoid 70 which moves a latching sector 166 out of contact with a sector 62. At the same time the sector 64 closes a switch 174 which energizes a solenoid 168 operating a valve 170 to supply pressure fluid from a cylinder 120 to a brake operating cylinder 172 to apply the brakes, a lamp 176 indicating this action. The relatching of the door in the closed position de-energizes the solenoid 168 to exhaust the cylinder 172. |
