PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To widen the applications of atmospheric-pressure data.SOLUTION: A portable electronic apparatus (e.g., a smart phone) 1 includes a housing, an atmospheric-pressure sensor 19, and a controller 10. The atmospheric-pressure sensor 19 detects the atmospheric-pressure in the housing. When a determination is made by the atmospheric-pressure sensor 19 that the housing has been gripped, based on the atmospheric-pressure in the housing, the controller 10 shifts the current first mode to second mode. Furthermore, the controller 10 discriminates the grip pattern of the housing based on the atmospheric-pressure thus detected, and may select the second mode among a plurality of modes, based on the grip pattern of the housing thus detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
