PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inorganic red phosphor and a use thereof in an illumination application.SOLUTION: Provided is a red phosphor comprising an inorganic luminescence compound exemplified by a composition formula (1), having an emission spectrum resolvable to a first Gaussian luminescent curve and a second Gaussian luminescent curve related to the use thereof in phosphor conversion light emitting diode illumination devices.
