A display apparatus and a control method thereof are disclosed. According to the present invention, the display apparatus comprises: an input unit inputting a user interaction; a display unit displaying one screen among a plurality of screens having hierarchy; and a control unit switching the currently displayed screen to a screen corresponding to an upper or lower depth according to a pinch interaction when the pinch interaction is inputted through the input unit and controlling the display unit to display the switched screen. Accordingly, the display apparatus is able to intuitively and directly switch over to a certain screen among the screens having the hierarchy in an easy and quick manner.
