The present disclosure relates to a wastewater treatment system comprising a plurality of columns with filter material that employ a combination of volcanic minerals, sediments and phyllosilicates all these preselected with very particular characteristics. All these elements are related to each other by the structure and size of the cavity inlet openings forming the molecular skeleton and the relationship of some of them with SiO2 / Al2O3 which determine the properties thereof. In each column the water flow is downward and the backwash is upward and is performed with the water that produces the system itself.
