PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small gas generator capable of efficiently cooling high temperature gas which is generated by combustion of a gas generating agent.SOLUTION: A gas generator 1A comprises a partition part 32, a cylindrical part 41, and a partition wall part 51 for mutually dividing an inner space of a housing into a first combustion chamber S1A, a second combustion chamber S1B, a gas passage chamber S2 and a gas exhaust chamber S3. The first combustion chamber S1A includes a space on inside of the cylindrical part 41 and closer to an igniter 22 side than the partition wall part 51, and the second combustion chamber S1B includes a space on inside of the cylindrical part 41 and closer to the partition part 32 side than the partition wall part 51. The gas passage chamber S2 includes a space on outside of the cylindrical part 41 and facing a peripheral wall part 11 of the housing, and the gas exhaust chamber S3 includes a space closer to a gas jetting port 13 side than the partition part 32. In actuation of the gas generator 1A, at least part of gas generated in the first combustion chamber S1A passes through the gas passage chamber S2, the second combustion chamber S1B and the gas exhaust chamber S3 in this order and then is exhausted outside.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
