The invention relates to a heat reservoir comprising: a housing for accommodating a heat storage medium; a heat storage medium accommodated in the housing; and a heat exchanger in which a heat transfer fluid can be conveyed and which is arranged such that heat from the heat storage medium can be transmitted to the heat transfer fluid. According to the invention, the heat reservoir is characterised in that an electrical heating device is provided, which is designed to convert electrical energy into thermal energy. The electrical heating device is arranged such that, in operation, it heats the heat storage medium, wherein the heat storage medium that is heated by the electrical heating device is a metal. A corresponding method is also disclosed. |
