The present invention relates to a method for recovering a valuable metal from a waste acid containing a valuable metal and an organic solvent and a method for recycling a waste acid, and more particularly, to methods applicable even if an organic matter is highly contented. The present invention includes the steps of: adding a basic substance into a waste acid containing a valuable metal and an organic solvent to adjust pH in the range of 1 to 6, and adding a hydrophobic phosphorus-based extractant and a hydrophobic solvent to extract the valuable metal (step of extracting a valuable metal); separating the valuable metal extract from the waste acid (step of separating a valuable metal extract); concentrating and reducing the separated valuable metal extract to recover the valuable metal (step of recovering a valuable metal); adding an oxidant and a catalyst into the residual waste acid after the separation of the valuable metal extract to be reacted by an advanced oxidation (step of removing an organic matter in a waste acid); and adjusting pH of the waste acid from which the organic matter is removed in the range of 2 to 10 to remove a foreign matter precipitated in the waste acid (step of removing a foreign matter in a waste acid).
