The present invention relates to an electrolyte of a high-voltage lithium ion battery. The electrolyte comprises a non-aqueous organic solvent, a lithium salt and an electrolyte additive. The electrolyte additive comprises the following compositions on the basis of the total weight of the electrolyte: 1% to 10% of fluoroethylene carbonate, 1% to 5% of a dinitrile compound and 0.1% to 2% of 2-methyl maleic anhydride; furthermore, 0.2% to 2% of lithium bis(oxalate)borate can be added; and furthermore, 1,3-propanesultone and other additives can be added. The present invention further relates to a high-voltage lithium ion battery using the electrolyte, wherein a charge cut-off voltage is greater than 4.2 V and less than or equal to 4.5 V. The electrolyte of the high-voltage lithium ion battery provided by the present invention is capable of protecting the anode, and is capable of forming a good SEI at the cathode; and the high-voltage lithium ion battery achieves good cycling performance and storage performance. |
