The present invention provides a device and method for automatically coordinating and proposing outfits tailored to the preferences of a user to the user. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, second color information that is obtained by analyzing images of pre-coordinated first merchandise items and second merchandise items is registered in a coordination database (44) in association with impression words corresponding to the second color information. Once a first merchandise item (top) to be coordinated is received, first color information (black) for the image of the first merchandise item and an impression word (casual) corresponding to the first color information are acquired. Second color information (black and red) having the same impression word as the acquired impression word (casual) of the first merchandise item and containing the first color information (black) is acquired from the coordination database (44). Then, a second merchandise item (bottom) having color information (red) for the difference between the first color information and the second color information is retrieved from a merchandise database (46), and the retrieved second merchandise item is presented. |
