The purpose of the invention is to provide both a power tool that can be equipped with a battery pack with a minimized total length (front-to-back dimension) as well as such a battery pack, or both a power tool that can be equipped with a compact and high capacity battery pack as well as such a battery pack. This power tool battery pack comprises a plurality of cells and a battery case housing the plurality of cells, each of the plurality of cells having a diameter of 16 mm and a capacity of 2.5 Ah, and all of the cells being electrically connected in series and housed in the battery case in such a manner as to be arranged in the front-to-back direction. The power tool uses this battery pack.
