PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine capable of effectively cooling an armature coil by making a liquid refrigerant that is supplied to a coil end, in a circumferential direction while preventing the liquid refrigerant from flowing out to an inner diameter side, and capable of attaining downsizing by suppressing expansion in axial dimension.SOLUTION: A rotary electric machine 100 is installed while making an axial center of a rotary shaft 6 horizontal. Refrigerant suction holes 60a and 60b are formed at upper positions, in a vertical direction, of first and second coil ends 20a and 20b in a cylindrical part of a frame 2. A strip-shaped insulation sheet is inserted between radially adjacent conductors in portions of conductor lines forming the first and second coil ends 20a and 20b while defining a thickness direction as a radial direction, and is disposed within the first and second coil ends 20a and 20b so as to circumferentially extend across lower positions of the refrigerant suction holes 60a and 60b in the vertical direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 17 |
