PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for selecting a protein having enhanced expression properties compared with that of wild type protein.SOLUTION: Provided is a method comprising the steps of: transforming a yeast cell using a vector that expresses a protein to be tested fused to a yeast cell wall protein, where mutagenesis is used to generate a variegated population of mutants of the protein to be tested; labeling the yeast cell with a first label, where the first label binds to the yeast expressing the protein to be tested but not to yeasts not expressing the protein to be tested; isolating the yeast cell bonded with the first label; analyzing the properties of the mutant protein expressed by the yeast in comparison with the properties of the wild type protein; and selecting yeast cells having a mutant protein exhibiting enhanced properties in comparison with the wild type protein.SELECTED DRAWING: None
