PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polymeric compositions with improved breakdown strength when utilized as an insulating layer for a power cable, the polymeric compositions containing a voltage stabilizing agent with excellent compatibility with polyolefins.SOLUTION: A polymeric composition contains a polyolefin and a voltage stabilizing agent. The polyolefin is a polyethylene and is HDPE, MDPE, LDPE, LLDPE and/or VLDPE. The polymeric composition comprises about 0.1 to about 3 wt.% of benzanilide as the voltage stabilizing agent.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
