Provided are: a plant-derived soft capsule coating film which has high coating film sheet strength and good adhesion properties and can exhibit excellent coating film performance; and a soft capsule. A soft capsule coating film characterized by comprising (A) iota carrageenan and (B) a waxy corn starch which is treated with wet heat in the presence of a salt, wherein the ratio of the content of the component (A) to that of the component (B), i.e., [(A)/(B)], is 0.4 to 3 by mass and the ratio of the content of carrageenan containing the component (A) to that of a starch component containing the component (B), i.e., [(carrageenan)/(starch component)], is 0.29 to 1 by mass. |
