The present invention relates to a power control device and method for an offshore plant, in which a vessel monitoring and controlling system (VMS) calculates a power limit in accordance with regenerative power and transmits same to a DCS. A power control device for an offshore plant, according to an embodiment of the present invention, comprises a VMS which calculates a power limit of each of a plurality of motors in a drilling apparatus by means of current power consumption, regenerative power stored in a power storage unit, and currently generated power, in an offshore plant; and a drilling apparatus controller which receives from the VMS the power limit of each of the plurality of motors in the drilling apparatus, receives from a worker an input of a command with respect to the drilling apparatus, and transmits to a VFD a power limit signal on the basis of the received power limit and the input command, wherein the power storage unit stores the regenerative power generated from the plurality of motors. |
