The data concentrator unit (DCU) has the purpose to collect and store a plurality of data variables directly supplied from an AMI type electrical energy meter remotely through wireless mesh communication networks without the need for on-site staff to perform manual measurements. One of the advantages of using a DCU, is that it is able to detect energy tampering by collecting information from electric power meters in real time, by having the georeferenced location for each meter by sections, areas, states, etc., by activating/deactivating the energy power from any address at the time that any debit is issued, by detecting various anomalies that occur at the time that users generate them (removal or reversing electrical meters, using clandestine bypassing means, detection of unusual changes in consumption, maximum demand, reduction of consumption, etc.), all of the aforementioned being possible as a result of the configuration of alarms related with consumption levels that are triggered when there is an imbalance out from the usual power consumption. |
