A server for providing a block game and an operating method thereof are disclosed. The server for providing a block game comprises: a database which stores block data; a processor which arranges a plurality of block data extracted from the database on a block board in response to a game play request from a terminal, adds, when a pair of block data selected by the terminal are linked and removed among the block data, a score related to the removal to an overall score, and records the overall score and the block board in a user area assigned to the terminal; and a user interface which provides the block board to the terminal to provide the block board recorded in the user area in a block game, wherein the processor ends, when the overall score satisfies an ending condition, the block game, updates the block board in the user area to add at least one new block data to the block board before the end of the block game, and maintains the number of block data arranged on the block board to be equal to or more than a predetermined number. |
