PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overturn prevention device capable of effectively preventing overturn of an article.SOLUTION: An overturn prevention device 100 for preventing overturn of an article 10 includes an article side base part 1 arranged so as to contact the article 10, a ceiling side base part 2 arranged so as to contact a ceiling 11, a damper 3, the two end parts of which are rotatably connected to the article side base part 1 and the ceiling side base part 2 respectively, and which generates damping force by an expanding/contracting operation accompanying the shaking of the article 10, and energizing means for energizing the damper 3 in an expansion direction. The damper 3 includes a cylinder 31 in which operation fluid is encapsulated, a piston 34 slidably inserted into the cylinder 31 that divides the inside of the cylinder 31 into two pressure chambers 32 and 33, and a damping force generation part 40 provided to the piston 34 for imparting resistance to the flow of the operation fluid between the two pressure chambers 32 and 33 accompanying the expanding/contracting operation of the damper 3 and generating damping force.
