A network system in which a terminal apparatus and a server communicate with each other via a global network is enabled to execute a corresponding process when the communication between the apparatus via the global network is disabled. A tablet terminal accesses a recording control apparatus via a local area network. The recording control apparatus determines the possibility of communication with the control server via a global network, and, if the communication is possible, issues an instruction for connection with the control server. If the communication is not possible, the recording control apparatus issues an instruction for connection with itself. The tablet terminal connects with the control server in accordance with the instruction and controls a recording apparatus using a Web application operating in the control server. Alternatively, the tablet terminal connects with the recording control apparatus and controls the recording apparatus using a Web application operating in the recording control apparatus. |
