The invention relates to a manoeuvrability handling arrangement and to a method, and computer program product for handling the manoeuvrability of a vessel (10) equipped with a hull (16). The manoeuvrability handling arrangement obtains current hull shape defining data concerning at least three positions of the hull along the length of the vessel, compares current hull shape defining data with corresponding reference data, determines state of deformation for a type of deformation based on the deviations of the current hull shape defining data from the corresponding reference data, where the type of deformation is set based on the mechanical properties of the vessel,and applies the state of deformation of the set type in a manoeuvring handling function for improving handling of the vessel, where the manoeuvring handling function comprises a trim handling function, the output data of which comprises power consumption.
