The present invention provides a transparent display device which can block external light if necessary. The display device includes a light control panel and a transparent display panel arranged on the light control panel. The light control panel has a lower substrate, an upper substrate, a lower electrode and an upper electrode which are respectively arranged on mutually facing surfaces of the upper and the lower substrate, and a liquid crystal layer which is arranged between the upper and the lower electrode and comprises liquid crystal molecules and block bar-type dyes.
