PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoacoustic imaging apparatus capable of suppressing continuation of light irradiation in a state of the insufficient quantity of light from light discharging semiconductor elements.SOLUTION: A photoacoustic imaging apparatus comprises: a plurality of light-emitting diode elements 21a which are provided in the vicinity of a detection generation part 24 and are capable of irradiating a subject 10 with light; a light source drive part 22 for supplying power to the light-emitting diode elements 21a so that the light-emitting diode elements 21a can generate light; and a forward voltage detection part 23 capable of detecting forward voltage values Vof the light-emitting diode elements 21a. The light source drive part 22 is configured to stop the supply of power to the light-emitting diode elements 21a based on the forward voltage values Vof the plurality of light emitting diode elements 21a corresponding to short circuits of the light-emitting diode elements 21a, which are detected by the forward voltage detection part 23.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
