Provided is a ceiling fan in which the roots of a plurality of blades are mounted to a rotationally driven support section. The ceiling fan is provided with fall prevention members each consisting of a wire material and each having a loop. Each of the blades has formed at the root thereof a through-hole through which the loop of a fall prevention member is passed. The support section is provided with engagement sections capable of engaging with the loops of the fall prevention members. The loops of the fall prevention members are arranged capable of engaging with the engagement sections of the support section. When the portion where the support section and a blade are mounted is broken, the loop engages with the engagement section of the support section, and the blade is held by the support section through the loop of the fall prevention member while the inner edge of the root of the blade is located outside the outer edge of the support section.
