The present invention relates to a motor driver and an air conditioner including the same. According to the embodiment of the present invention, the motor driver includes a rectifier, a capacitor, a boost converter, a ripple voltage detector, an inverter, and an inverter controller. The rectifier rectifies input alternating current (AC) power. The capacitor stores ripple voltage from the rectifier. The boost converter is interposed between the rectifier and the capacitor to boost and output the power rectified from the rectifier. The ripple voltage detector detects the ripple voltage. The inverter includes a plurality of switching devices to output the converted AC power to the motor using voltage on both ends of the capacitor. The inverter control unit controls the inverter based on a delay error which is a difference between the ripple voltage detected from the ripple voltage detector and an instantaneous value of the ripple voltage, and the detected ripple voltage. Accordingly, an inverter control operation can be performed by corresponding to the ripple voltage. |
