PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which performs control in consideration of the printing surface of a cover and the type of the sheet to be used for the cover when a book product is generated by switching back the sheets on which images are printed and folding the sheets whose front and back are reversed, a control method and a program of the same.SOLUTION: A printer which can transport sheets to a sheet processor for generating a book product by switching back the sheets on which images are printed and folding the sheets whose front and back are reversed comprises: printing means which prints an image on a cover to be added to the book product; and control means which performs control so as to notify a user of an error on the basis of the type of the sheet used as the cover when it is designated that the image is printed on the cover.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 20
