A power conversion device (100) equipped with a rectifier (3) that converts AC power from an AC power supply (1) to DC power, a shorting unit (30) that short-circuits the AC power supply (1) via a reactor (2), and a control unit (20) that controls the shorting unit (30) during a half-cycle of the AC power supply (1). A correction amount using the inductance value of the reactor (2) is set in the control unit (20), and the control unit (20) uses at least a detected value for the power supply current (Is) and the correction amount to change the ON time and the OFF time for multiple switching pulses, and uses the changed multiple switching pulses to turn the shorting unit (30) on and off. This power conversion device (100) is able to improve the power factor, suppress the high-frequency component, and reduce circuit loss, while reducing the design load. |
