A method and system of forming a tunnel, preferably a mining drift tunnel, in a single pass by extending a tunnel boring machine (TBM), applying precast lining segments, and forming a planar surface that divides the cavity into an intake portion and a return portion. An extractor at or near the surface draws exhaust and/or ground gasses along the return portion and creates negative pressure that draws fresh intake air along the intake portion. |
