A carbon coated heat conducting material is provided which, while maintaining excellent heat conducting performance, can increase water resistance, oxidation resistance, and dispersibility in a resin during mixing. This carbon coated heat conducting material has a coating layer comprising amorphous carbon on the surface of a heat conducting material, the heat conducting material comprising a metal oxide, a metal nitride, a metal material or a carbon-based material with heat conductivity of 10W/mK or greater, and the amorphous carbon being derived from carbon contained by an oxazine resin. The G-band and D-band peak intensity ratio is 1.0 or greater when measured with Raman spectroscopy, the average film thickness of the coating layer is 500nm or less, and the coefficient of variance (CV value) of the film thickness of the coating layer is 15% or less. |
