The present invention provides an organometallic complex showing light emission with high color purity. The organometallic complex is represented by chemical formula (G1). In chemical formula (G1), L represents a monovalent anionic ligand; R^1 represents a substituted or non-substituted C1-C10 alkyl group, or substituted or non-substituted C6-C13 aryl group; each of R^2-R^5 independently represents H, a substituted or non-substituted C1-C6 alkyl group or a substituted or non-substituted phenyl group, wherein R^5 may be mono-substituted, di-substituted, tri-substituted, tetra-substituted or non-substituted; X represents O, S or Se; and M represents a metal that belongs to Group 9 or 10. In addition, when M represents a metal that belongs to Group 9, m is 3 and n is 1, 2 or 3. When M represents a metal that belongs to Group 10, m is 2 and n is 1 or 2. |
