The present invention relates to a device and a method for embedded-based automotive image storage allowing vehicles involved in illegal parking, late payment, or theft or wanted vehicles to be extracted and crackdown images to be stored in real time in a convenient and efficient manner without police officer reinforcement. The embedded-based automotive image storage device of the present invention includes: an image distribution processing unit recognizing a license plate region in a camera image and separating a recognized image of the license plate region; a number recognition processing unit extracting a vehicle number through the image of the license plate region recognized by the image distribution processing unit by using a vehicle number recognition program; a storage unit storing vehicle registration information including vehicle numbers of illegal vehicles; a matching processing unit inspecting whether any one of the vehicle numbers of the illegal vehicles stored in the storage unit corresponds to the vehicle number extracted from the number recognition processing unit; and a display unit displaying the vehicle number matched through the inspection by the matching processing unit. |
