An auxiliary electronic device (400), such as a portable battery pack, attachable to a wearable electronic device (100), such as a smartwatch. The auxiliary device (400) includes a housing (402), electronic circuitry within the housing (402), and an attachment mechanism configured to attach the auxiliary electronic device (400) to the wearable device (100) while the device (100) is being worn by a user. In some embodiments the electronic circuitry includes a power transmitting unit (806) that can wirelessly transmit power to charge a rechargeable battery within the wearable electronic device (100). In some embodiments the attachment mechanism includes a pair of lugs (406a, 406b) that extend, from opposite ends of the housing (402), above the housing (402) towards a center of the auxiliary device (400) and are adapted to fit within corresponding recesses (114a, 114b) of the wearable electronic device (100). |
