[Problem] To provide an image analysis device, an image analysis method, and a program, with which the orientation of fiber bundles can be readily analyzed from a CMC three-dimensional image. [Solution] Provided is an image analysis device for analyzing the orientation of fiber bundles of X yarns and Y yarns from a three-dimensional image of a fabric comprising fiber bundles of X yarns, Y yarns, and Z yarns, wherein the device is characterized by being equipped with: a binarization unit for binarizing three-dimensional images; an overlap area extraction unit for extracting from a binarized image an overlap area in which X yarns and Y yarns cross three-dimensionally on the vertical; a reference direction selection unit for averaging the direction of overlap of each of voxels included in an overlap area, and selecting the averaged direction as a reference direction; a Z yarn elimination unit for applying a directional distance operation in a reference plane that is perpendicular to the reference direction, and eliminating the Z yarns from the binarized image; and a fiber bundle orientation estimation unit for reapplying a directional distance operation in the reference plane on the image from which the Z yarns have been eliminated, and estimating the orientation of the X yarn and Y yarn fiber bundles on the basis of the directional distance that was calculated during the application.
