The invention relates to a head of an animal grooming brush (1)with a manually retractable comb (12, 4) which comprises a handle (2), a head (3) with a movable lamellar comb (4), means for controlling the movement thereof and means for setting the comb (12, 4), in which the comb (12, 4) can be replaced without removing the head that contains same and without resorting to tools, and engages with means that ensure the transverse setting thereof in a plurality of positions, consecutively, in the head, standing out from the head, for brushing short-hair coats (5), for brushing long-hair coats (5) and for maintenance. According to the invention, the comb (12, 4) is connected, in a removable manner and by transverse sliding, to a cradle (12, 2) which is connected to a connecting rod (13) and a lever (14) which, supporting a control button (17), is rigidly connected to lateral cylindrical pawls which are used for hingedly connecting the connecting rod (13) to the head and engage with positioning notches (47) arranged in said head in order to provide the setting of the comb (12, 4) in a plurality of longitudinal positions, while allowing the movement thereof in a plurality of positions, including a maintenance position that allows the comb (12, 4) to be removed from the cradle (12, 2) thereof, in order to replace same. |
