The present invention relates to a display device to relay an advertisement or information to passengers by being built into a floor surface at the entrance or exit of an escalator or a moving walk. The display device comprises: a rectangular parallelepiped monitor box (MB) which can be built into a floor surface (10) at the entrance or exit of an escalator (S) or a moving walk and is for housing a monitor (M); the monitor (M) fixed horizontally to fall from a floor surface (MB10) of the monitor box within the monitor box (MB); a toughened laminated glass plate (20) covering the entrance of the monitor box (MB) and having the size to cover the entire monitor so as to protect the monitor (M) from external shocks; ventilating means (40) for discharging heat generated from the monitor (M) to the outside of the monitor box (MB); and a local computer (C) connected to the monitor (M) to control the operation of the monitor and disposed outside the monitor box (MB).
