1. An optical network comprising:
an optical cable arrangement including a plurality of optical fibers that define first optical lines and second optical lines, the first optical lines being indexed in a first indexing direction along the optical cable arrangement, the second optical lines being indexed in a second indexing direction along the optical cable arrangement, the second direction being different from the first direction; an indexing terminal disposed at an intermediate location along the optical cable arrangement, the first and second optical lines of the optical cable arrangement being indexed at the indexing terminal so that at least one of the first optical lines and at least one of the second optical lines drop off at the indexing terminal, the indexing terminal including a first cable port, a second cable port, and a third cable port, the first and second optical lines that drop off being routed to the third cable port while a remainder of the first and second optical lines are routed between the first and second cable ports; a splitter terminal disposed external of the indexing terminal, the splitter terminal defining a network output port and a subscriber output port, the splitter terminal including an optical splitter having first outputs directed to the network output port and having an additional output directed to the subscriber output port; and an output cable including at least a first optical fiber and a second optical fiber, the first optical fiber of the output cable optically coupling the first optical line that drops off at the indexing terminal to an input of the optical splitter at the splitter terminal, and the second optical fiber of the output cable optically coupling the second optical line that drops off at the indexing terminal to the input of the optical splitter at the splitter terminal. |
