The purpose of the present invention is to provide a display device capable of widening the range for perceiving a spatial image when an observer perceives the spatial image, and recreating an image having the same vividness as a real object. The display device includes: an LCD (3) as a light source; an OLED (2) functioning as a transmissive display; and a retro-reflective optical element (1) that retro-reflects the diffused light from the LCD (3) and causes the retro-reflected light to pass through the OLED (2) so that the light passed through the OLED (2) focuses on a spatial retro-reflective display region (4). The retro-reflective optical element (1) displays a floating image (6) on the retro-reflective display region (4), the floating image (6) being a second image corresponding to a first image which is the original image (5) displayed on the LCD (3). The OLED (2) displays a coordinated image (7) that is a third image associated with or coordinated with the floating image (6).
