PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel pneumococcal vaccine based on PspA by finding out a combination of clades or a combination of strains, which shows broad cross-reaction and can induce an immune response to an extensive clinical isolate pneumococcal strain, from the combination of PspA, i.e., a pneumococcal surface protein antigen.SOLUTION: The invention provides a pneumococcal vaccine containing a fusion protein containing at least a full-length of family 1 pneumococcal surface protein A or a fragment thereof, and a full-length of family 2 pneumococcal surface protein A or a fragment thereof, particularly containing any of the following fusion proteins (1)-(3): (1) a fusion protein containing at least family 1 clade 2 pneumococcal surface protein A, and family 2 clade 3 pneumococcal surface protein A; (2) a fusion protein containing at least family 1 clade 2 pneumococcal surface protein A, and family 2 clade 4 pneumococcal surface protein A; and (3) a fusion protein containing at least family 1 clade 2 pneumococcal surface protein A, and family 2 clade 5 pneumococcal surface protein A.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
