An industrially advantageous method is provided for producing crystalline silicotitanate, which is effective as a material that adsorbs cesium and also as a material that adsorbs strontium in ocean water. This method of producing crystalline silicotitanate represented by general formula K4Ti4Si3O16・nH20 (in the formula, n represents 0-8) is characterized by involving a first step for obtaining a gel mixture by mixing a silicic acid source, a potassium compound, titanium tetrachloride and water, and a second step for producing hydrothermal reactions in the gel mixture obtained in the first step, wherein, in the first step, the silicic acid source, the potassium compound and the titanium tetrachloride are added such that the molar ratio Ti/Si of the Ti and Si contained in the gel mixture is 0.5-3.0 and the molar ratio of K2O and SiO2 is K2O/SiO2 is 0.5-3.0. |
