PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable detection of a document size without stopping optical adjustment processing even in a state in which the document size detection is executed during the optical adjustment processing.SOLUTION: In a white reference plate 91, a white reference member is used in a rectangle disposed at an optical adjustment position and is used between the optical adjustment position and a document size detection position outside a document reading area (i.e. outside a contact glass 161, in a range of an arrow W). When an opening/closing detection section 81 detects opening/closing of a document conveyance section during optical adjustment processing, a drive section moves a scanner unit 20 from the optical adjustment position to the document size detection position, and even during or after the movement the scanner unit 20 can execute the optical adjustment processing without stopping according to an output value acquired by reading at both the end parts because the white reference plate 91 is present at upper parts of both end parts of the scanner unit 20 in the main scanning direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
