PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray CT apparatus capable of displaying an image which allows a user to easily confirm an insertion path of a puncture needle.SOLUTION: An X-ray CT apparatus comprises an MPR image creation part, a setting part, a specification part, a cross-sectional image creation part and a display control part. The MPR image creation part creates a first MPR image indicating a cross section in a prescribed direction with respect to volume data and a second MPR image indicating a cross section in a direction different from the prescribed direction. The setting part is used for setting an insertion path of a puncture needle with respect to a subject on the basis of the first MPR image. The specification part specifies an image region corresponding to the insertion path in each of the first MPR image and the second MPR image. The cross-sectional image creation part creates cross-sectional images of cross sections orthogonal to the cross sections of the first and second MPR images and along the image regions for the respective first and second MPR images whose image regions are specified.
